CULTURE ARTS WELCOMES AFRICANS AND AFRICAN AMERICANS FOR WEEKEND OF KNOWLEDGE, CULTURE AND COMMUNITY

ELIZABETH, NEW JERSEY – The Annual Cultural Arts Expo & Convention is taking place on May 19, 2018 at the Crowne Plaza in Elizabeth , NJ. Queens of Africa United International Foundation USA and Malachi’s International Ministries are proud to welcome distinguished guests, musicians, artists, vendors and entrepreneurs directly from Ghana to make personal connections with buyers, sellers and potential investors. Queens of Africa United welcomes African Americans, and all cultures across the African continent in a celebration of unity and learning.

“Frequent travel to Ghana has allowed us to build strong relationships built on credibility, integrity and mutual respect,” says CEO & Founder Alaina Mensah of Queens of Africa United. “The Culture Arts Expo & Convention is geared towards all those who want to unite and learn our culture, including African-Americans and other countries.

The focus of this year’s fundraiser, the Queen’s Red-Carpet Ball, is to raise funds for valuable community improvement in infrastructure to provide building access and safe walkways for those with disabilities, implementing treatment plans to help reduce Malaria, and helping empower those in Africa with means of supporting themselves while earning a living wage.  

For those in business, it’s also a valuable opportunity to connect directly with influential dignitaries, artists, NGOs (Non-governmental organizations) and other non-profits working in Ghana and across the continent to improve the lives of families on a daily basis.” Investment in Africa is growing.

  • Special Youth focused session led by 12 year old entrepreneur and designer by Egypt ‘Ify’ Ufele.
  • Natural hair care demonstration and workshop compliments of Afrikinky / Africans Gone Natural.

 

Guests of Honor include Madame Janet Edna Nyame, Secretary General, UNA-GH Vice President, WFUNA, (World Federation of United Nations Associations) and Executive Director of National Commission on Culture, Ghana  

Live musical performances from singer Sherifa Gunu, R&B artist Johnny Ray Soul and highlife musician Frank Mensah Pozo.  MC Hosts include Miss Ghana Tourism, USA – Lyna Clark; Miss Liberia, Orthelia Marieh; and Miss AfriCaribe Cameroon, Ingrid Elmon.

All attendees to encouraged to come in their traditional ‘Best Dressed’ to demonstrate the diversity and pride across the Diaspora and all African nations.

Cost: $50, includes drinks & hor d’oeuvres.

Runway show by 12-year old Egypt ‘Ify’ Ufele. This breakout star is the youngest and only designer to debut plus size fashions for women and girls at New York Fashion Week. Once teased for her weight, Ify created Chubbiiline – a brand that promotes body acceptance, self-esteem and empowerment.

Hair & Models compliments of Afrikinky / Africans Gone Natural, an organization whose goal is to help African women around the globe embrace their crowns in style. 

About: In conjunction with Malachi’s International Ministries (NGO), Queens of Africa United Foundation International USA (501c3) works with US & Ghanaian individuals or organizations who want to unite and learn Ghanaian culture.  

 

Queens of Africa United also implement necessary food pantries for expectant mothers, infants and others in need-based organizations to with local schools and orphanages to provide uniforms, backpacks and school supplies for students annually. For the past several years, Queens of Africa United has held events designed to uplift and foster unity, education and empowerment in communities across Africa.
